Fantastic day, did an insane amount of math (8h, 3 sections of Axler!)
What allowed me to be so productive? A few things
-
I did all the exercises in my head, this helped me avoid unimportant complexity that isn't important for understanding. Similar to how Scholze does it
Scholze avoids getting tangled in the jungle vines by forcing himself to fly above them: As when he was in college, he prefers to work without writing anything down. That means that he must formulate his ideas in the cleanest way possible, he said. “You have only some kind of limited capacity in your head, so you can’t do too complicated things. Wired, the oracle of arithmetic

I avoided getting stuck, I skipped exercises I couldn't do or didn't find interesting and came back later (turns out I was able to solve almost all of them!).
-
I avoided discord basically the entire day, barely checked it once (because I had to ask a math question on discord) and that's about it

At 1:20 I felt tired, so I went swimming in our cold pool and I felt much better! Super proud of myself for doing something to get more energy instead of giving up and saying "I'm tired".
If I spend 5 days a week like this I'll be able to match people like TurnTrout and Scott Young!
It'll be hard, I'll have to say no to social events and people needing computer help, but I can make this pace work.
At 6:45 I stopped to eat, ate till 8:00pm. Took too long and ate too much because I was watching YouTube. Tomorrow I'll eat away from the computer (maybe read while eat if I don't want to waste time)
Spent 30m watching silly YouTube videos, I love This Tungsten Cube Cured My Mortality.
Spent 30m doing the dishes, now I'm journaling (9:00pm)
Weekly review
It's Sunday so let's look at how I spent my time this week
Around 25h textbook studying, 30h math in total. Pretty good! That entertainment time is bad, 4h anime. But still okay
In total worked 54h this week, 64h if you count morning routine stuff. Though around 5-7h of the work is one time stuff that won't impact my future carrier (i.e. not becoming stronger)
