Good day
- 20min Reading the bible, unsong
- 30m Review inadequate equilibria
- 2h Doing functional analysis. Reviewed everything I've learned and read a good amount of the sections I assigned
- 1h 30min Review linear algebra duality in infinite-dimensional space. Interpreted the transpose numerically (so obvious, I cringe remembering uli2019 complaining about the transpose not having a geometric interpretation)
- 2h Matrices as graphs and tensor network diagrams. Perhaps could have gone faster, but doing all the computations myself aided my intuition
- 2h Biology, reading "Cell biology by the numbers"
I finally understand the power of Fermi estimation, and how amazing it will be to memorize numbers for everything. Then I can calculate things in my head!
Now that I think about it, most famous geniuses I can think of were amazing at Fermi estimation and had a great knowledge of numbers/quantities (Fermi, Von Neumann, Feynman, Elon Musk, ...)
It'll be fun to memorize all these quantities,
Quote from Cell biology by the numbers
In after years I have deeply regretted that I did not proceed far enough at least to understand something of the great leading principles of mathematics, for men thus endowed seem to have an extra sense. Charles Darwin, Autobiography, 1887
