Stuff I got done
- Finished section 5.3 exercises and merged them into my solutions repo (also skeleton for 4.6)
- Finished first section exercises of Spivak's calculus on manifolds. Wrote them up in notes (took too long, maybe I should have skipped notes)
- Spent an hour thinking about safety arguments and walking. Didn't really think of anything, was worth a shot though (and if there was a longer timeframe I'd work on it, since it's literally free money)
- Spent an hour reading Infinite Powers by Strogaz (since I was a bit tired and wanted to learn how I can explain calculus well). Good quote: "Calculus is the language God speaks" - Feynman Also kinda embarrassing, but I didn't realize you can think of 1/0.1 as cutting 1 foot into pieces that are 0.1 feet long (I always thought of multiplying the top and bottom by 10, lol)
- Spent 1h 40m Chatting on the math discord with Koala and studying Spivak. Kinda got stuck, I did explain Heine Borel to him well though.
- Spent like 1h 40min chatting on discord about math, and doing misc things like organizing
Things I didn't do
- Didn't draft LW post on concreteness. It's silly how high a standard I set myself, I can definitely write something better than half of what's on the homepage of LessWrong. And if it would help me, it will help others.
- Didn't do any memory practice
- Didn't do anki reviews, Agh! I really need to get back to using habitica for habits. I did exercise though, despite getting up late.
It's 10:00pm as I write this, should have gotten off my computer earlier? but did spend my time pretty productively
- Talked with Koala, decided to start several new reading groups
