- Did my Anki Reviews that have been piling up for a day
- Reviewed and merged pull requests for 4.5, 5.2 and 5.3. Learned you can use L'Hopital's rule to prove that implies . If a derivative is discontinuous the limit must not exist, removable and jump discontinuities are impossible.
- Finished section 3.2 of functional analysis, skimmed the proofs surrounding convexity, I just want to get the idea; I'll forget the details anyway.
- Spent 1h reading the beginning of The Principles of Deep Learning Theory. It's cool, I want to read some of it; especially chapter 1 which has general ML stats things on Gaussians.
- Spent 1h tutoring a friend in calculus, had him derive the equations for linear regression. This is part of my "figuring out how to teach math" side project. I taught myself calculus in ~3-4 months and that was with no help and several strategic errors. I want to design a course that can take someone strong in algebra and teach them calculus in a month of focused studying.
Plan for tomorrow:
- Study bio and chemistry for 3h in the morning. Make Anki cards.
- Deep learning theory for 1h, try and get through chapter 1. Lots of good stuff there.
- Writing and building for ~2-3h on my blog
- Read meditation book before and during dinner (high priority! Last few days my meditation hasn't been going great. I need to figure out what I'm doing wrong)
